One of the best wine tastings I've ever done! The hosts were extremely hospitable, and we ended up staying a little over 4 hours. The food was freshly prepared, and they even worked around some dietary restrictions one of our friends had. Proprio ieri ci siamo trovati a Tenuta Papale per partecipare alla degustazione di vini; che dire, davvero una piacevolissima esperienza! Posto magico con vista sull’Etna (peccato per le nuvole) e che ti infonde un clima di pace e di ordine (sarà anche per la perfetta e simmetrica distribuzione dei filari e delle viti). Lo staff simpatico, accogliente e preparato..ci ha fatto sentire a casa! Il tagliere e le insalate fredde davvero buonissime e abbondanti (tornando a casa era in programma passaggio da Catania per cena ma non siamo stati perché sazi già dalla degustazione). Our visit to Tenuta Papale Winery was truly one of the highlights of our time in Sicily. From the start, Giuseppe is easy to communicate with and schedule. From the start, the entire Tenuta team and staff are outstanding. On top of truly excellent Etna and DOC wines, the service was truly that of a five-star hotel. The accompanying snacks and food were just excellent. We could not have had a better time here. Small, family run place offering wine tasting. We came without prior booking after visiting the Etna. We got a short tour around the vineyard with super helpful host Tania. We had a tasting of the DOC wines produced in that vineyard (which were all great, especially bianco) and a selection of finger foods (which in itself was not only very good but also plenty) including their own olive oil.Carica di più

My husband and I went to Tenuta Papale after our Etna trip, in January, and it was such a lovely experience to taste the local wines paired with the traditional food. The experience is well worth the money - the wines are many and food portions are big. Giussepe is such a great host - very attentive, he responds to messages very quickly and booking the place and making the payment in advance was so easy. He was also very flexible as we were a bit late to the winery. Another trip to the Estate will be coming in the future. I thorough enjoyed my visit at Papal Estate this week. The guide was excellent and gave lots of historical and horticultural information. The tour of the vineyard lasted about 45 minutes. They have two vineyards. 1000 of their olive trees are at the other orchard. There were only a couple of olive trees at this orchard, though the guide did provide a lot of information about the olive production. Then came the wine tasting that lasted nearly 2 hours with the four wines, olive oil, and an additional tasting of their dessert wines. Since I am a vegetarian, some of the pairings were a bit different than normal. You can see the 4 wines and pairing that I had. Overall, a wonderful experience and afternoon. I plan to return next fall on my next trip to Sicily. FYI - They are in the process of building a storage room and bottling process for their wines.
